Escort winches

For reasons of safety, the dynamic towing capacities of a tug are used more and more. During dynamically towing, the line forces are higher than the bollard pull for longer periods. The equivalent requirements for safety ( non capsizing) and reliability ( no linebreak ) has been translated by Ridderinkhof in a range of real escort winches that comply with the heaviest specs in the industry.

For our continuous hauling/veering escort range of winches, you can choose from line forces of 40, 75, 105 and 130 ton, and hauling speeds up to 40 meters per minute. With an optional application; veering speeds of over 100 meters per minute can be realised. The proportionally adjustable line force is kept constant during the whole operation through the continuous engaged drive train and our self developed mechatronics.

The whole Ridderinkhof range of escort winches is available with hydraulical drives or with frequency driven electrical motors.

The escort winches can also be used in manual mode; manual hauling and veering, and traditionally towing on the brake. Line forces of the holding brakes can be chosen between 60 and 300 metric tons.
